Contemporary Art needs young and intelligent „Art scouts“ at eye level; specialists, who discover / spot artists, support them and bring them together with the right people. Nowadays, the protagonists of the art world are not only the artists, but also gallerists, curators, collectors, journalists; people who can see, read, buy and write. Maud Piquion can do this and does it. (Ivo Wessel, art collector, Berlin)
I have worked with curator Maud Piquion on two occasions; both times her reliability and insightfulness were exemplary. First she curated and organized a group show in Berlin for Aalto University, in 2010, which went really well. Then I invited her to give a workshop to my fine arts MA students in Helsinki, which also got extremely positive feedback from the students. I think Maud is an efficient organizer, a curator with a vision and a good, down-to-earth teacher who is able to educate and inspire art students. (Teemu Mäki, director of art department at Aalto University, Helsinki)
Working with Maud has been an delightful experience. The way she deals with all aspects of art management is through and through professional; be it from transportation of the works, curating the exhibition, generating interest in the media, to organizing a successful opening night… Maud’s smooth sense of coordination, accompanied with a warm, engaging and enthusiastic character, makes it easy and pleasurable to work with her. (Henry Krokatsis, artist, London)
Maud Eglantine Piquion is a most affable person with a sharp mind and creative solutions to imminent issues. As I have seen in our mutual endeavors, she is capable of driving projects towards success with social intelligence and institutional intuition, always seeking to negotiate the best results possible for all involved. (Thomas Eller, artist, Berlin/New York)
Maud Piquion, a young curator and art manager with great communication skills, breaks free from the conventional idea of a curator. She accomplished a rare feat of maintaining a fundamental and analytic attitude towards art and realizing art projects. I am highly inspired by her way of translating curatorial statements into exhibitions, as well as by her dynamic way of organizing projects. (Jung Me Chai, curator, project manager, NRW KULTURsekretariat )
